At Rensselaer, he oversees day to day operations in several wind tunnel facilities, including a low speed wind tunnel (80cm by 80cm by 12 feet) and a smaller low speed wind tunnel (10” by 10” cross section). His focus is to investigate the flow physics associated with the control of flow over aerodynamic bodies most closely associated with wind energy. Specifically, his particular area of interest is understanding the identification and statistical evolution of small scale rotating structures present in unsteady flow fields. His competencies include the development of experimental procedures and LabVIEW implementation of phase-locked measurement techniques incorporating simultaneous measurement of multiple devices and integration of such paradigms with third party components and software.
